Counselling and Psychotherapy for Children, Adolescents and Adults

Work Style

My approach is largely but not exclusively based on psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral modalities, which I combine to tailor the work to each individual's needs and style.

I use play therapy techniques with younger children and with those whose verbal skills are less developed, while adolescents and adults usually prefer to talk. I consider it essential to remain aware, at all times, of my clinical limitations, and to refer my clients to more qualified colleagues when appropriate.

My work style is warm, respectful, accepting and strengths-based. I create a climate in which clients can express themselves freely and safely and I am keenly aware that the client is the expert on his or her life.

I assist my clients in identifying and clarifying issues; in prioritizing concerns; and in setting, evaluating and implementing goals. Some ingredients which I believe to be essential, are to work collaboratively with my clients and to encourage them to explore different approaches to solving problems.
